ARP main studs are made from 8740 chrome moly steel, heat-treated to 200,000 psi tensile strength with J-form threads that are rolled (not cut) after heat treatment (not before) for unmatched strength and precision.
Main studs locate the main bearing caps more securely than bolts alone, provide more accurate and consistent clamping force because the fastener does not twist when you apply your torque wrench. Studs only get installed once, which reduces the chances of damage to the female threads in the block. Includes fourteen M12 main studs, washers, nuts, and a 1/2 oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lube.
